Meatless for Fourty Days

I am Catholic and it is time for Lent! If you are unfimiliar with Lent, it represents the 40 days Jesus walked through the desert. (Not going in deep description, if you're wanting more information feel free to ask!) In these 40 days you give up or add something in your life that keeps you from God or gets you closer to God. Lent is taking place March 5th - April 17th, I know I'm a little late with this post.

I have chosen to go meatless for Lent. (You are allowed eggs and fish) I chose this because I am currently on my own fitness journey and changing my current lifestyle. I am trying to find a balance within myself and I believe going meatless I am forced to find healthy alternatives and to not focus on meat being my main course. Food is my biggest set back. When you eat like crap, you feel like crap. Which leaves you less time for the important things in life. When I am balanced within myself, I am more capable of being balanced in life and becoming closer to God. God has given me a role to fullfill and I cannot do that without having balance.
